MEET THE CHEF: GINO ASSAF
Gino grew up in Venice and has worked in many fine Venetian restaurants since 1980. Some of the restaurants Gino has worked at include IL Gazebo , Trattoria Serenissima , Trattoria da Beppi. Gino moved from Venice to San Francisco in 1994 and worked at Ristorante Ideale for five years, at which point he then opened his first restaurant, Ristorante Gondola in North Beach. Gino spend nine years at Ristorante Gondola, and has now decided to bring his expertise to Specchio.
